Our story

Duke's Antique Market is a small, family-owned business, located in Asahikawa, Japan which offers a wonderful collection of authentic Japanese antiques and collectibles, such as pottery, porcelain, lacquerware, netsuke, and textiles, to name just a few, sourced from various regions all over Japan.

Our extensive knowledge of Japanese antiques allows us to source some of the most unique items in the country through our local connections. Do you purchase antiques and collectibles?

Yes, we do! Duke’s Antique Market regularly buys antiques from the local community. If you’re looking to sell, please follow these steps:

  1. Take some pictures of the items you are selling.

  2.  Attach those pictures to an email and add a brief description of anything you think might be relevant (condition, age if you know it, etc.).

  3. If you have an idea of how much money you want for the item(s), please include that in the email.

  4. Send us an email and we will quickly get back to you and let you know if we’d like to purchase your items. 


Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We pack and crate everything in-house and ship worldwide by Japan Post’s EMS (Express Mail Service), the most economical means available.

How do you calculate shipping costs?

SHIPPING & HANDLING POLICY:

Your item(s) will automatically be processed for shipping according to the following guidelines.

We charge a flat rate fee of $65.15 minimum shipping and handling fee (this may be more depending on the item being shipped as well as time and materials). This fee includes insurance, tracking, and priority 10-day shipping. We use Japan Post and their EMS (Express Mail Service) to ship all of our items. EMS is the fastest and most economical international mail service for sending up to 30 kg of merchandise simply and conveniently to our customers in over 120 countries and territories worldwide. Your items will be shipped within 1-7 business days of your purchase and a tracking number will be sent to you via email. If you have any questions about shipping costs please let us know. We’re always happy to help.

What is your refund policy?

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. We are here to help you resolve any issues or concerns you may have.

Returns

You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Your item must have been purchased from Duke’s Antique Market.

Refunds

Once we receive your item, we will look it over and let you know that we have received your returned item.  We will immediately notify you of the status of your refund after inspecting the item.  If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card. You will usually receive the credit within 7-10 business days, depending on your card issuer's policies.

Any Other Problems

If we accidentally sent you the wrong item please contact us within 7 days and we will send you the correct item.  In most cases, you can keep the mistaken item.  In the unlikely case that one of our items arrives broken, please kindly contact us within 7 days of receipt with pictures of the broken item and we will find a solution such as a refund, replacement, or in-store credit. In any case, please contact us and we will work with you to solve any problems that you may have.  We are here to help and your satisfaction is what we value most.  After 30 days, all transactions are final.  

Return Shipping

If you purchased an item and you decide you want to return it, you will be responsible for return shipping. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
